THE SURF
Restaurant Menu & Logo Design
Graphic Design ✦ 2026

Research · Brand Identity · Illustration · Logo Design · Menu Design · Procreate.
I began by researching The Surf’s location, atmosphere and surrounding culture. Located in Balm Beach, Ontario, the restaurant is shaped by its waterfront setting and relaxed summer environment.
The visual direction draws inspiration from coastal life, local wildlife, fishing, beach culture and summer dining, creating a playful and approachable identity that reflects the restaurant’s atmosphere.
The project included logo development and menu design that reflect the restaurant’s welcoming environment.
Research & Inspiration
I developed the identity around The Surf’s coastal location and playful atmosphere. A light blue and orange colour palette reflects the beach and sunset environment of Balm Beach, while local wildlife inspired the illustrated characters.
Seagulls are a familiar part of the surrounding beach environment, while the shark was incorporated at the owner’s request. I explored the characters individually before combining them into the final identity.

The visual language established through the logo carries into the menu system, creating a cohesive identity across the restaurant’s touchpoints. I focused on balancing clear information hierarchy and readability with the playful personality of the brand, using typography, illustration and subtle coastal elements throughout both menus.

About the Brand
Wellwise is a Canadian health and wellness retailer focused on helping people live more comfortably and independently. The company offers products and services for mobility, recovery, sleep therapy and everyday living, including mobility aids, lift chairs, compression products, equipment rentals, fittings and repairs.
My Role
During the Summer of 2026, I worked on the Wellwise Marketing Team as a Graphic Designer, creating print and marketing materials while working within the company’s established brand identity. My projects included the 2026 Wellwise Calendar, home services brochures, business cards, banners and branded tablecloths.
01 Wellwise Calendar
I took the lead on designing the 2026 Wellwise Calendar, developing the layout and visual direction while maintaining consistency with the existing Wellwise brand. The goal was to create a functional and approachable calendar that balanced everyday usability with clear, engaging branded visuals.
02 Home Services Brochures
I designed informational brochures highlighting the home services available through Wellwise. I began by researching the services, organizing the required information and sourcing imagery that supported the content.
The biggest challenge was communicating a large amount of information without making the brochure feel overwhelming or cluttered. I focused on visual hierarchy, spacing and content organization to create a layout that remained informative, approachable and easy to navigate.
03 Business Cards
The business cards needed to represent both Wellwise as a brand and the individual employee using them. My goal was to create something professional and trustworthy while still maintaining the approachable personality of the Wellwise brand.
I worked with the established brand colours and visual identity to develop a clean, recognizable layout that clearly prioritized employee information without losing personality.

Visual Communication
I created a series of graphics for Rocky Mountain Dog’s Kickstarter campaigns to communicate the key features and benefits of both products. Using product photography, feature callouts and consistent layouts, I transformed product details into clear visuals that customers could quickly understand while exploring the campaigns.
Goal
Create engaging, easy-to-understand visuals that showcase product functionality without overwhelming the customer with information.
